HARE SPIRIT

The Hare has long been honoured in ancient folklore, earth-based spirituality, and shamanic traditions as a creature of intuition, transformation, fertility, rebirth, and hidden wisdom.
Moving between worlds with speed and sensitivity, the Hare is seen as a guide through times of change — teaching us to trust instinct, awaken awareness, and move fearlessly through the unseen realms. Deeply connected to the moon, the wild land, and the cycles of nature, Hare medicine carries both gentleness and powerful spiritual energy.
This drum is inspired by old Dartmoor folklore telling of a witch who transformed herself into a hare to evade hunters. In traditional folk belief, the hare was often associated with shapeshifting, magic, feminine mystery, and ancient earth wisdom. These stories remind us of the Hare’s role as a liminal being — one who walks between the physical and spirit worlds.

Drum Care
Your drum does not require oil, as the artwork is protected with a light varnish.
Avoid extreme temperatures or direct sunlight, which can dull the sound.
If the drum loses tension:
• Lightly mist only the inside of the drum with water (never the painted side).
• The skin may wrinkle — this is normal.
• Leave it to dry naturally overnight to re-tighten.
