The Watchers
The Watchers is a playful yet evocative painting that brings together humor, mystery, and ancient wisdom. Three ancestral heads emerge as silent guardians, their timeless expressions suggesting stories carried across generations. Perched confidently atop one of the figures, a crow adds a touch of wit and character while also symbolizing insight, transformation, and the connection between worlds.
Inspired by shamanic traditions and the enduring presence of ancestral spirits, this piece explores the idea of unseen guidance and the watchful energies that accompany us through life. Despite its spiritual undertones, the painting maintains a lighthearted charm, inviting viewers to smile while reflecting on deeper themes of memory, intuition, and connection to the past.
Richly painted in acrylic on board, The Watchers combines earthy, ancient imagery with a contemporary artistic sensibility, making it a distinctive conversation piece for any home, studio, or sacred space. It is ideal for collectors drawn to mystical art, folklore, ancestral symbolism, and works that balance reverence with a sense of humor.
A unique original artwork is painted by me in my studio by the sea.
Medium: Acrylic on Board
